Alex's Background

Alex Gerlis, author and expert on espionage, worked as a journalist for the BBC from 1983 to 2011, and as head of training for many years. Today Alex authors espionage thrillers, including a series set in the Second World War, The Spy Masters.

His first novel in the series, published in 2012, The Best of Our Spies, is currently being developed for a television series. Other books in the series include The Swiss Spy (2015),  Vienna Spies (2017), and Berlin Spies (2018).

The Prince series of books includes Prince of Spies (March 2020), Sea of Spies (June 2020), and Ring of Spies (October 2020). End of Spies will be published this spring, and Alex is currently working on a new espionage-based book series.
